There are a lot of reasons to prefer EVs, but only if it makes sense for you. For a single person, a renter, or a single-car household, I don't think I could recommend an EV unless they were willing to rent a car for longer trips. But I think if a family has two cars, one should definitely be an EV if they can reliably charge it.
