Like all devices with rechargeable batteries, you’ll have to charge them more as the battery ages. However, I feel like this will be less of a problem with AirPods since the batteries in the AirPods and case are so small that they charge very quickly, and the AirPods charge whenever they’re in the case. You may not get 5 hrs of playback on a single charge, but I’ve never personally used AirPods for more than 2–3 hrs at a time without eventually having to put them in their case for some reason. Right now, I recharge the case maybe 1–2 times a week. If that becomes 2–3 or 3–4 in a few years, I doubt that will bother me much, especially since I charge my phone and watch every day.
