I Upgraded Early to Apple Watch Series 7. It Was Worth It.
I could’ve waited another year, but I would’ve suffered for it

I really wasn’t planning on getting the Apple Watch Series 7. I have a Series 4 that is still in good shape aside from a little lag here and there, so I figured I’d wait one more year before upgrading. But my wife pointed out that our healthcare plan includes about $200 for home health expenses that includes the Apple Watch, meaning I could get my Watch with a serious discount. So I decided to upgrade early to a green 45mm aluminum Series 7, even though I wasn’t terribly excited about it, particularly when the rumors of a major case redesign didn’t pan out.
After about two weeks with the Series 7, I’m still confident I could have gone another year with my Series 4 — but I realize now that I would’ve suffered for it. Because I really like the S7 and its improvements over S4. It also confirmed that the tech press, even six years after the first Watch was released, still doesn’t truly understand the Apple Watch, which I still believe is Apple’s most important product going forward.
