I totally agree that USB-C is better than USB-A in most ways. However, its three biggest problems are fairly significant ones — all the different formats of USB-C (which unfortunately look identical), the fact that USB-A is so much more pervasive since it has been around basically unchanged for almost 25 years, and that most people (especially Apple users) own very few or no USB-C chargers or cords. I think even when USB-C eventually becomes the go-to standard, USB-A will continue to hang around for decades to come, at least as a power standard.

BTW, I really enjoyed your piece on Van Halen!
